Our Story

Designed for Adventure.
By an Adventurer.
Compass & Creek started with a simple problem.
After countless camping trips, hikes, and days on the water across New Zealand and Australia, I kept running into the same frustrations with outdoor gear that didn’t quite do what it should.
Spending so much time outdoors meant I was constantly coming across small problems that made adventures harder than they needed to be.
So instead of settling for it, I started designing better solutions.
Every Compass & Creek product is built from real outdoor experience, designed to solve real problems and built to perform in the demanding outdoor conditions found across Australia and New Zealand.
Because the best gear isn’t designed in an office.
It’s designed by people who actually use it.

Meet Dan
I’m Dan, the founder of Compass & Creek. When I’m not working on new gear, you’ll usually find me outdoors, hiking, camping, mountain biking, surfing, fishing, whitewater rafting, kayaking, or canyoning whenever I get the chance.
This is where every Compass & Creek product is born. Every product starts with a real problem that I, and many other outdoor adventurers, have faced in the wild. From there, we design practical solutions that are simple, durable, and built to handle Australia’s harsh outdoor conditions.

Built Aussie Tough
Australia’s outdoors demand gear that performs. From remote bush tracks and dusty campsites to saltwater coastlines and scorching summer heat, the conditions can be unforgiving.
That’s why every Compass & Creek product is designed to handle tough outdoor environments and rigorously tested in real-world conditions across Australia and New Zealand.
If it performs here, it’ll perform anywhere.
